Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR)

Autonomous Mobile Robots enables you to run an efficient and cost-effective storage system that can maximise capacity and offers impressive scalability. AMR’s ‘goods-to-person’ system means your team members remain at their workstations to carry out fulfilment tasks as selected products or storage units are brought to them.

  • One of the most advanced types of warehouse automation.
  • Productivity rises, fewer errors occur in retrieval and handling and, importantly, a safer working environment is created as people movement in the workspace is reduced.
  • Fast to generate ROI due to increased productivity and streamlined warehouse operations.

Autonomous Mobile Robots systems

At Quickline, we partner with French specialist manufacturer Scallog to both supply and install their sophisticated autonomous mobile robot systems in warehouses across the UK.

These systems are highly suited to the e-commerce and retail sectors where time-sensitive operations require fast-paced storage and retrieval.

AMR systems greatly optimise the picking process by reducing the repetitive material handling tasks associated with person picking systems.

Flexypick

With the Flexypick system, AMR units move under mobile shelving and then lift and bring it together with the order items to the operator.

The units navigate through the operating area using optical sensors and adhesive floor strips.

  • The unit moves at 1.2 metres/second when loaded
  • It has a lifting capacity of 600KG
  • 14 hours of operating time
  • Can be recharged in 2.5 hours
  • Boasts 450-600 picks per hour with between 10 and 100 orders being prepared simultaneously

Flexypick is widely installed in warehouse environments for cosmetics, textiles, footwear, pharmacy, electronics and spare parts businesses.

Flexytote

The Flexytote unit uses autonomous mobile robots to select empty tote boxes, bring them to the order buffer racks to be filled by an operator and then dispatched to consolidation or packing areas.

Movement is controlled through Wi-Fi, and the software management programme is straightforward to install.

  • It has a load capacity of 250KG
  • 14 hours of operating time
  • Can be recharged in 2.5 hours
  • Can carry a racking system that can hold more than one tote box

Flexytote is particularly appropriate for micro fulfilment centres and distribution operations.

Autonomous Mobile Robots benefits

Installing AMR is a major financial outlay, but the upside can see a swift return on investment; warehouses with Scallog systems can see this ROI as quickly as within two years.

Other cost benefits come from the speed and accuracy of order fulfilment, meaning fewer returns and refunds, and a drop in logistics management costs per item through increased productivity.

Autonomous mobile robot systems help improve space efficiency by 30%, while essential information on inventory levels for operations and audit purposes can be retrieved swiftly. Overall, they greatly improve warehouse operations and

The installation of an AMR system does not require any preliminary works and can be completed in 2-3 weeks. Furthermore, Quickline provides guarantees and maintenance support.
